Immersive 3D Web Application – The Pile Dwelling Compass

The Pile Dwelling Compass is an interactive 3D web application that enables intuitive exploration of prehistoric sites, time periods, and archaeological discoveries. With detailed 3D visualizations, interactive elements, and informative texts, users can immerse themselves in the lives of people from that era and discover the unique features of these UNESCO World Heritage sites-anytime and anywhere.

Real-Time 3D Visualization

The Pile Dwelling Compass uses WebGL and Three.js to render complex 3D models smoothly in browsers-without additional software or plugins.

Interactive Touchscreen App

A responsive multi-touch interface was developed for the Keutschach exhibition, providing museum visitors with playful and intuitive access to information.

Dynamic Data Integration

Info points, 3D models, and texts are loaded from a centralized database, enabling updates and expansions without redeploying the application.

Progressive Web App (PWA)

Designed as a PWA, the Pile Dwelling Compass is offline-capable, adapts to all screen sizes, and delivers powerful, responsive performance on mobile devices.

How does collaboration work on a digital project?

The project workflow varies for each project because we deliver tailored solutions and respond precisely to your requirements. Generally, our process for web projects always begins with an initial consultation and a comprehensive analysis of the existing project. Based on the findings, we assemble a project team of specialists. For web and software projects, the core team typically includes:

  • Project Management
  • Design
  • Software Architecture
How do we ensure the application is understandable and easy to use for the target audience?

If user data already exists, we analyze it and build our usability concept on these insights. If there is no valid data yet, we conduct user research to develop a concept that defines the user journey. Sometimes, we verify this concept through user testing or create simple prototypes for microtests of individual features.

Can content be expanded or adjusted later?

All our websites and web applications are scalable and can be expanded or adjusted afterwards. Depending on your needs, we can build websites that can be extended without technical (coding) knowledge, or our experts can guide you through the expansion process.

What are the advantages of a digital solution for a museum or exhibition?

Digital solutions are sustainable and reusable. If hardware is available in the museum or exhibition, different systems can be run on the same hardware, maximizing flexibility and long-term value.
